FAQ:
Can you get local simcards? Spark and Vodofone both offer simcards at most shops / convenience stores / supermarkets for about $2 plus whatever calls / data package you choose.
How far are the ski fields? Coronet is a 20 minute drive and by far the closest and most likely to have good road access as it is the lowest resort. The Remarkables is a 30 minute drive and Cardrona is about 60 minutes up towards Wanaka and Treble Cone is another 15-20 minutes on top. Ski buses for Coronet and Remarks go past our front door and cost $20 per person return.
Is there free parking? Sure! multiple parking spaces are available by the properties. Please contact us if you are unsure where to park.
How far is the bus stop? The bus stop into town is on the Frankton Road and is just a 3 minute walk. The driveway to the road is quite steep but only takes 1 minute and the rest is flat.
How long does it take to walk into town? You can walk to town along the Frankton Track which runs along the lake shore and is mostly flat – it takes about 18 minutes to the Botanical Gardens and 24 minutes into town.
Are there noisy bars nearby? No, we are a 3 minute drive / taxi to town and on a private road so the only noise you will hear at night is the sound of the waves breaking on the lake shore.
Can you hear the airport? Depending on the flight path of the aircraft you may hear aircraft landing or taking off during the day. The airport is very quiet and has very few flights so expect minimal aircraft noise.
Can we use the kitchen? By all means, our kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware, cutlery and high-end appliances so you can feel at home away from home.
Is there a laundry? There is a washing machine and dryer – please feel free to use both of these but please try to save energy, water and the environment.
Do we have to share bathrooms? The Master bedroom with ensuite has its own bathroom with shower and bath. The King bedroom shares with 1 other bedroom and there is an additional toilet upstairs in the communal areas.
Can we leave luggage with you? We have limited space but you are welcome to leave luggage with us for 24 hours. Every additional 24 hours is $5 NZ per large case.
Are check-in and check-out times flexible? This depends on the bookings before and after your stay; please contact us if you have a particular requirement for check-in or check-out.
