Milford Fly-Cruise-Fly:

Take a stunning scenic flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, including a 1.5 hour cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand’s premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the sound is experienced from all viewpoints.

We will fly you from Queenstown over the southern alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks.

After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the sound. The boat has a Pita Pit restaurant onboard, with freshly grilled wraps or pies, and complimentary tea and coffee. After the cruise your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

Franz Josef / Tasman Glacier Heli-hike:

The one-hour flight from Queenstown to Franz Josef or Tasman Glacier is certainly spectacular, but the highlight of this trip is the Glacier Heli-Hike. The experienced guides will take you from Franz Josef township to a deep part of the Franz Josef Glacier via a scenic helicopter flight. The helicopter flight passes over the deep crevasses of the icefalls, Victoria Falls the waterfall from the melt river of Victoria Glacier, to land at the upper Franz Josef icefall. From there you’ll be fitted with crampons for the 2 hours on the ice, exploring caves and seeing the natural, ever-changing wonder of the glacier.

Departure time is 10:00am, returning at 5:30pm. Winter (May 1st to September 30th) departure is 8:30am returning by 4:00pm.

What to bring:

• 3 – 4 layers of warm upper body clothing (jeans are not recommended on wet days, as they become very cold and uncomfortable to wear).
